Immersion Highlights:
Your hosts:
Philli Bartik
Philli has been teaching Yoga for over 12 years, first travelling to India in 2013. Forever a student, she has continued to study, practice and explore the richness and diversity of Yogic and Tantric tradition under the guidance of Master teachers of several different lineages. Philli embodies and advocates for our human experience as the vehicle for awakening us to the vast possibilities of this life. As a teacher and yoga therapist she strives to create a clear, safe and nurturing environment for discovery and transformation. This orientation aims to empower students and clients to curate their own vitality through becoming more aware of their true nature.
Philli first experienced trekking in the high Indian Himalayas with one of her teachers in 2023, learning how to imbibe their energy, deepening her understanding of the value of yogic application and lifestyle. She returned (with Jesse) to co-facilitate an immersive experience for students in 2024 and then beyond that trekked (with Jesse) to a more remote, sacred, high-altitude lake; further developing her yogic and mountaineering skills on one of the most challenging treks in the region.
Philli is inspired to return for the 2026 season, to once again explore and share in the wildly transformative, humbling and awe inspiring resonance of the mountains, with those who feel the call to do the same.
Jesse Alexander
Jesse started his active spiritual journey with a trip through India, Laos and Thailand in 2013. He has since spent time in Australia, Bali, Italy and India, immersing as a student of Tantra and (more recently) Ayurveda, under several master teachers.
Jesse is a teacher of Tantric Yoga, Tantric View, and Ayurvedic Lifestyle. He facilitates workshops, public classes, men’s circles, advanced education on YTT’s and private therapeutic consultations. His mission is to embody and transmit Tantric and Ayurvedic ways and tools for expanding the bliss of freedom.
Like Philli, Jesse travelled through the Himalayas in 2023 with one of his teachers. During this journey he was totally possessed by the unspeakable magnitude of the mountains, and as such, returned in 2024 to co-facilitate the first Shava Yoga Himalayan Immersion with Philli, after-which they both completed a higher, more challenging and remote expedition to the sacred Kakbhushundi Lake.
Jesse feels very inspired and drawn to once again co-guide a raw dive into the overwhelming rapture invoked by the majesty of India’s Garhwal Himalayan ranges, in October 2026.
Philli and Jesse led the first
Shava Yoga
Himalayan Immersion
in October, 2024 and now look forward to facilitating
the experience for a second time in October, 2026 .

FAQs:
-
Q) How difficult are the treks?
A) The treks are rated as moderate to difficult with some days being more challenging than others. A high degree of physical fitness and thorough preparation is required for this experience.
Q) How many days are we trekking?A) 5 of our days will involve trekking.
Q) How long are the treks?
A) Each day of hiking will be between 10kms and 15kms in distance. Altitude will make these distances significantly more challenging than usually experienced when closer to sea level.
Q) What are the hiking trails like?
A) Most of the hiking trails are variations of packed rock in dirt. The trails generally offer stable footing, but some places offer flatter rocks for your feet to land than others. Plan to bring trekking shoes with adequate foot and ankle support.
Some of the treks include sections of moderately difficult off-trail/raw terrain.
Q) What will the weather be like? Should we expect rain?
A) October in Garhwal Himalayas is commonly considered to be the best/safest time to visit. It marks the beginning of winter, and as such we can expect a wide window of temperatures and varied conditions.
Be prepared for temperatures from (min -7˚C to max 32˚C). It is common that skies are mostly clear, with afternoon clouds and sometimes snow. Weather can change rapidly in the mountains so it’s necessary to be prepared with appropriately-warm jackets and pants and also wet-weather gear for potential rain and snow.
Q) What happens in the case of adverse weather/environmental conditions?
A) In the event of adverse weather/environmental conditions or other unforeseen circumstances, the itinerary may be adjusted for best participant experience and or health/safety reasons.
